Newly Refurbished BedroomsWe have 20 bedrooms, all of which have recently been decorated and refurbished. The residents' rooms are homely and can be decorated accordingly to individual taste.
Each of our bedrooms include: A profiling bed, a TV, an armchair, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and a vanity unit with a mirror. On admission, residents are welcome to bring small personal possessions, furniture or furnishings with them, as we feel this is an important thing to do as it will give them that 'home from home' feel which will help them settle in. Activities ProgrammeAll our activities are tailored to meet the unique needs of our residents. Whether you want peace and quiet, to have 1-1's or to take part in all our activities, the choice is yours.
Our Activities Co-ordinator Charlotte is a brilliant asset to our team and always encourages our residents to join in with the activities she has planned. Charlotte plans a variety of activities for the week including our Wednesday Weekly Quiz, Gardening, Prize Bingo, Arts and Crafts, to name a few! We have a variety of entertainers come in to perform for us and the home puts on big events at Christmas, Easter etc, which the residents and their families love! Resident's outings include trips to garden and shopping centres, cafe's, fish and chip shops, the railway station and even the local pub! |
GardenWe have a lovingly tended garden which has been revamped recently. Our residents have access to the garden through our double doors in the dining area and the ramp leading into the garden. The pond has a fountain feature and plants were bedded surrounding the pond. Charlotte and the residents spent time painting our memorial benches and the garden statues.
Many of our residents enjoy spending time in the fresh air in the fairer weather, they especially enjoy sitting up to one of the garden tables with a cup of tea and biscuits! We won 1st place in "Bitton in Bloom's" Competition for 'Best Smalll Business'. Additional ServicesWe like to encourage everyone in our nursing home to take pride in their personal appearance.
We currently have an in-house Hairdressing service "Hair by Nicky" available for when our residents wish to have their hair cut or styled. Alternatively, if you already have your own hairdresser who you still wish to use, they can visit or if you are still able to, you can visit your chosen hairdresser outside the home. Our chiropodist Nikki visits every 6-8 weeks. We have laundry facilities at Edgemont View, so we can launder all residents clothing. We do ask that you label/mark all clothing including socks and stockings – preferably with stitch in labels/permanent marking pen. You can mark clothing with names, initials, or room numbers. |
Open Plan Lounge/Dining RoomThere is a friendly and tranquil atmosphere in our communal lounge area/dining room. Both ends of the room have two widescreen TV's.
The dining room has recently been refurbished and has been made into a lovely area for our residents to enjoy their meals, should they wish to eat at the table. The lounge has two conservatories which have a lovely outlook on the garden. One of our conservatories has been transformed into a visiting spot/hair and nail salon and is a great place for you to socialise on special occasions if you wish (birthdays, anniversaries etc). Call Bell SystemThere are call bells in each bedroom, so residents are able to access help if it's needed. We also have a comprehensive fire detection system.

“As soon as I entered Edgemont View I sensed a welcoming and caring atmosphere. Small enough to provide the homely touch, and with the bonus of a lovely garden. I immediately felt that it was the right place for my mother.” - Resident’s Relative
