Edgemont View has an established staff team who provide our residents with excellent continuity of care. Our staff are all recruited from the local community and we have a very robust initial employment process. Many of the staff have worked at Edgemont View for a number of years, live locally, and are familiar with the area, which residents often find reassuring.
The team is made up of Registered General Nurses, Senior Care Assistants, Care Assistants, an Activities Co-ordinator, Maintenance Man, Catering and Domestic staff.
All staff have been carefully selected and trained to deliver sensitive and skilful care, as Edgemont View is fully committed to staff training and development. There is always a trained nurse in charge on each shift, as well as one senior care assistant. There are four care assistants on shift in the day and two on the night shift.
Our nurses are all NMC qualified, most of the care staff have their NVQ 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. All new employees have induction training for the week of their employment. All our staff are taken through a comprehensive induction program and continue to have regular training and practical supervision throughout the year.
We use an accredited training company to deliver our sessions. Edgemont View also provides work placements for students on occasion enabling local young people to experience the field of care. We have a network of care workers, with a wealth of experience, most have an NVQ level 2 or 3.
